Braxton County, W.Va., Consumers Have Access to Fast, Affordable Verizon High Speed Internet Service

 More consumers and businesses in parts of Braxton County, W.Va., now have access to Verizon High Speed Internet, allowing them to quickly download movies, share photos or video with friends and family, and create their own Internet content.
With the recent installation of new equipment, Verizon now is offering High Speed Internet service, based on broadband DSL technology, to approximately 300 additional consumers and small businesses in parts of the Flatwoods and Heaters communities.

 Beginning today, consumers in Taunton have more choice in cable TV providers now that Verizon has introduced FiOS TV, making a broad range of programming choices and superior picture quality available to thousands more Massachusetts households.
Taunton is among 71 Massachusetts communities (see list below) where the company's new television service is being offered - the only TV service delivered over the nation's most advanced all-fiber network directly connecting to millions of individual homes and businesses.

Verizon Business Releases Trailblazing Data-Breach Study Spanning 500 Forensic Investigations

 Nearly nine in 10 corporate data breaches could have been prevented had reasonable security measures been in place, according to a comprehensive report issued today by Verizon Business. The study also provides key recommendations to help businesses protect themselves and urges them to be proactive.
The "2008 Data Breach Investigations Report" spans four years and more than 500 forensic investigations involving 230 million records, and analyzes hundreds of corporate breaches including three of the five largest ones ever reported. This first-of-its-kind study, conducted by Verizon Business Security Solutions investigative experts, also found that 73 percent of breaches resulted from external sources versus 18 percent from insider threats, and most breaches resulted from a combination of events rather than a single hack or intrusion.

Enhanced Portal Offers Verizon Enterprise Customers Unified Wireline, Wireless View

 Verizon's enterprise customers now have a single online site where they can view and manage all their wired and wireless communications. Verizon Business and Verizon Wireless have joined forces to launch the Verizon Enterprise Center (VEC), a unified portal that gives large-business customers a seamless online experience.
Formerly known to Verizon Business customers as the Verizon Business Customer Center and to Verizon Wireless customers as My Business, the new VEC portal provides a single sign-on with integrated access, allowing customers to place orders, view and pay invoices, create trouble tickets and analytical reports, and monitor and manage their wired and wireless voice, data and IP services.

Residents of Taunton are a major step closer to having a real choice for their cable television services, thanks to a newly approved agreement authorizing Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service via the most advanced all-digital, fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes.
Taunton Mayor Charles Crowley has granted a cable franchise to Verizon, authorizing video choice for thousands of households here.
The mayor's authorization brings to 71 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon's FiOS TV is or will soon be available. |
