Verizon is making the summer more entertaining for FiOS TV customers.
With higher gas prices and a weaker dollar causing many Americans to stay home, Verizon is offering a special discount to new FiOS TV customers when they subscribe to the Movie Package, which includes more than 40 channels from Showtime, Starz, The Movie Channel, Encore, Sundance Channel and IFC, as well as access to hundreds of video-on-demand (VOD) titles.

To meet the growing trend of consumers who want to use a wireless phone for their home voice service but still want broadband Internet service via their landline, Verizon is now offering its new Flex Double Play bundle. It enables customers to subscribe to Verizon Wireless service, add Verizon broadband -- and get it all on one bill. FiOS TV service, where available, can also be added to create a triple-play bundle.

Fios Video Franchises approved for Amherst, Hamburg, and Village of Lawrence, N.Y.

Residents of the Erie County towns of Amherst and Hamburg, and the Nassau County village of Lawrence are a major step closer to having a real choice for their cable television service, thanks to newly approved agreements authorizing Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service, delivered over the most advanced fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes.
The Amherst Town Board granted a video a franchise to Verizon Monday (June 16), paving the way for video choice in the community.

Verizon Now Offering Small and Medium Commercial Sites Its FiOS Service

Verizon is ramping up efforts to extend the reach of its FiOS service to small and medium-sized commercial properties such as strip malls, and street-level shops and offices.
The service expansion and marketing campaign targeted to these properties, known as multiple-tenant units (MTUs), is being conducted by Verizon Enhanced Communities, Verizon's business organization that markets communications services to single- and multiple-dwelling unit properties (MDUs). The effort is an outgrowth of Verizon's program to link apartment buildings and other multidwelling units to offer FiOS services to tenants.

However, Verizon FiOS TV customers are ahead of the game. Verizon FiOS TV is already all-digital, so for most customers there will be no change. At the same time, Verizon is making other changes, and it is taking steps to ensure that customers are not confused by the phaseout of analog broadcasts. |
