Verizon FiOS TV Makes Its New York City Debut

 There's finally home entertainment that's big enough for The Big Apple as Verizon begins offering FiOS TV service today in New York City.
"New Yorkers at long last have a better choice for TV," said Maura Breen, Verizon general manager for New York. "We've had great success in the suburban areas around the city. Now it's time to put the Verizon FiOS TV show on Broadway - and eventually every other street, avenue and boulevard in the city - so New Yorkers can kiss old-fashioned cable good bye."

 Verizon Thursday (July 10) launched FiOS TV for Business, a new subscription-television service designed for small and medium-sized businesses, delivered exclusively by Verizon's advanced all-digital, 100 percent fiber-optic network. The new offering makes the remarkably crystal-clear picture quality and reliability of FiOS TV readily available to all types of small-business venues - ranging from medical office waiting rooms to banks, building lobbies, restaurants and taverns.

Verizon Extends Groundbreaking 50/20 Mbps FiOS Internet Service to Entire FiOS Footprint

 Beginning next week, Verizon will make available to more than 10 million homes and businesses the nation's fastest consumer broadband connections, with download speeds up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps.
In remarks prepared for delivery today at the NXTcomm conference here, Verizon President and Chief Operating Officer Denny Strigl announced that the company is expanding its industry-leading FiOS Internet connections of 50/20, 20/20, 20/5 and 10/2 Mbps across all of Verizon's FiOS Internet service footprint in 16 states.
