 Consumers and businesses in the Wyatt area now have access to Verizon High Speed Internet, allowing them to quickly download movies, share photos or video with friends and family, and create their own Internet content.
Verizon technicians recently installed high-speed Internet equipment, based on digital subscriber line (DSL) technology, at the company's Wyatt central telephone switching office, enabling the company to offer broadband service in Wyatt and nearby communities.

 Verizon told the New York City Franchise and Concession Review Committee (FCRC) Tuesday (May 20) that the company is ready, committed and eager to install its advanced fiber-optics network throughout all five boroughs of the city and provide real TV choice to some 3.1 million households. Verizon is prepared to make a historic investment in the city, and plans to offer competitive cable service to hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers in the five boroughs later this year.

 The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced the final rule for the Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program (coupon program) designed to help consumers continue receiving free, over-the-air television when full-power television stations cease analog broadcasting after February 17, 2009, as authorized in the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005 (the Act). Digital television will provide consumers with a clearer picture, more programming and will free up much needed spectrum for advanced wireless broadband services and interoperable communications among emergency first responders.
