There's finally a home-entertainment choice that's big enough for Buffalo-area consumers as Verizon begins offering FiOS TV service in numerous Erie County communities Monday (Sept. 15).

The service offers 98 HD channels, giving customers more HD channels than Comcast.

As part of Verizon's continuous expansion of its FiOS TV channel lineup, the company announced today that it has started adding GMA Pinoy TV, a 24-hour general interest channel broadcast in Tagalog, one of the major languages spoken in the Philippines.

Filipinos in parts of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island where FiOS TV is available can now enjoy GMA Pinoy TV, the first international channel from leading broadcast company GMA Network and one of the Philippines' top television stations. Verizon will launch GMA Pinoy TV in all remaining FiOS TV markets during the next few months.

Verizon FiOS TV subscribers who speak Spanish, Chinese and Hindi now have more multicultural entertainment to choose from as Verizon adds films in the three languages to its lineup this month. Verizon is offering the international films through an agreement announced Tuesday (March 6) with SIVOO Inc., the first Internet TV network of multicultural on-demand entertainment programming.

SIVOO will provide 236 titles in Spanish, Chinese and Hindi to Verizon over three years. During March, Verizon will offer eight films each in Spanish and Hindi and three in Chinese, and SIVOO will refresh the selection monthly.
